like this massive (and it's not just the USA, look at Canada, Germany etc) western shift towards bigoted thinking and arch-conservatisim. Anti-gay, anti-choice, anti fun, anti-human, overt xenophobia....it's all bubbling up again, as it always has at certain periods in history. And have we just simply accepted , speaking as an american, that our government can feel free to spy on us, and torture and terrorize and conduct brutal military conquests at will? Is that OK with us? Cos if it is......

Benjy Franklin said something like this : "THOSE WHO WOULD TRADE A LITTLE BIT OF LIBERTY FOR A BIT OF SECURITY DESERVE NEITHER". Ok Ben was a short kinda fat guy with funky glasses , maybe he wasn't super sexy but that sounds pretty punk rock to me, and about as timely as can be .

The "security" we've traded our "liberty" for is nothing but smoke, we know this in our hearts don't we. So what to do?
